He spends about an hour with Alex’s body before dumping it in the woods and leaving himself unmarked by going out drinking with friends.
Mason was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 28 years before the Parole Board considered his release. The minimum sentence was reduced to 26 years after he filed an appeal.
This week, a documentary examining the social network’s role in the case will air. In it, Alex’s friends, family and experts discuss what happened over two years ago. Tonight, April 29, at 22:30, the program is broadcast on ITV1 channel.
