Alix, Alberta – Alderic Catellier, a beloved resident of Alix, AB, passed away at the young age of 35 on September 15, 2023, following a tragic car accident. Alderic was born on October 8, 1987.
Alderic was known for his infectious laughter and a warm grin that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
He is survived by his father Pierre Catellier (Rita), mother Julie Oberg (David), sister Alison Goertzen (Tyler), nieces Georgia and Greta, brother Myles Catellier, nephews Travis and Ashton, and brother Joel Catellier.
Alderic was a man of many passions, excelling as a heavy-duty equipment operator and showcasing his ability to operate anything. He embraced life to the fullest, radiating energy and a larger-than-life personality. He was known as a big, affectionate teddy bear and always seemed to be the loudest and most vibrant presence in any room. Alderic thrived on speed and adrenaline, finding joy in activities like riverboating, dirt biking, and snowmobiling. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, cherishing the moments spent with them. His adventures were made even more memorable with his best friend Justin Garrett and brother Joel by his side. Alderic was an exceptional uncle, always ready to impart love and warmth to those around him.
Alderic’s absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he find peace and reunite with loved ones who have gone before him, particularly his dear friend Ricky.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering a donation to the distress centre for mental health or another charity. Alderic’s journey reminds us all of the battles we face, and supporting mental health can make a significant difference.
A celebration of Alderic’s vibrant life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2:30 PM at the Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, Alberta, followed by a gathering at Alderic’s farm. Let us join together to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Alderic Mac Catellier.
