Surrounded by his loving family, AJ’s courageous battle with illness has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. The cause of his illness has not been disclosed.
AJ Fetty was known for his insatiable intellectual curiosity, as evidenced by his tenacious pursuit of complex academic subjects, including intricate philosophical concepts and advanced mathematical principles. His instructors often lauded his exceptional problem-solving abilities and his remarkable aptitude for grasping challenging ideas with remarkable ease. However, it was his underlying reservoir of creativity that truly set him apart from his peers.

“As I am just getting home, trying to fathom all of what has happened in the past 24 hours, I can’t help but absolutely ball my eyes out. You were truly one of the greatest friends I have ever had. You had so much more life to live. So much more to do. You were 16 and now you will be forever 16. To all the mamas out there, hug your kiddos extra tight tonight. To everyone, keep the Fetty family in your prayers as they have to endure a pain no one should ever have to endure. And to Aj, I love you more then I could ever express to you. A statement from the GoFundMe account shed light on AJ’s recent medical journey, explaining that he was initially hospitalized for what was believed to be mono. However, further assessment at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh revealed multiple medical concerns, including liver masses, which rapidly deteriorated his condition. Despite his ordeal, AJ celebrated his 16th birthday during his extended stay at the hospital. AJ Fetty’s memory will forever remain cherished within the Lakeview community, as he is remembered for his compassion, resilience, and academic brilliance.
