She began her political journey in 2011 when she was elected as a member of the House of Representatives to represent the Yola North/Yola South/Girei federal constituency as a member of the People’s Democratic Party. PDP).
She later defected from the All Radical Congress, where she won an election to represent the region’s Senators Center Adamawa area in the 2019 general election. .

Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani won the governorship ticket of the Progressive Congress (APC) in Adamawa State by defeating six male candidates and political heavyweights.
In the primaries, Binani won 430 votes, the most in the election, to defeat Nuhu Ribadu, a former presidential candidate for the Congress of Action and the first chairman of the Crime Commission. of Economic and Financial Affairs (EFCC), who received 288 votes.
Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow, the outgoing governor, finished third with 103 votes, followed by Abdurrazaq Namda with 94 and Wafari Theman with 39.

On October 14, 2022, a federal high court in Yola invalidated Binani’s candidacy as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Adamawa.
