Anderson County, South Carolina – The Anderson County community is grieving the loss of Adam Scott, a dedicated county deputy, firefighter, and dispatcher who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Firefighter Adam Scott, known for his service with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office SC, was confirmed to have passed away by his wife, Ashley Scott, a 911 Emergency Dispatcher at the Anderson County Unified Emergency Communications Center-911. Adam Scott of Starr, South Carolina, took his last breath on the afternoon of Sunday, September 24th, 2023. He leaves behind a 6-week-old baby girl and two beloved stepdaughters.
Adam Scott was a remarkable individual, demonstrating his versatility as he served as a firefighter, dispatcher, and deputy. He possessed an unwavering commitment to helping others, never expecting anything in return. His love for his wife and children ran deep, and just six weeks ago, Ashley and Adam celebrated the arrival of a precious baby girl. Adam embraced his role as a stepfather to two beautiful young girls with unwavering devotion.
In addition to his role with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Adam was a former firefighter at the City of Seneca Fire Department and the Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department. He was a graduate of Crescent High School. Within his relationship with Ashley, he wasn’t just a partner; he was also her closest friend, a source of laughter, her protector, and an exceptional husband.
Adam Scott’s wife, Ashley Scott shared the news of her husband’s death with grief. She stated in her post that:
I wanted to reach out to all our family and friends regarding very devastating news about my sweet husband Adam Scott. Adam passed away peacefully this afternoon. I’m so grateful that so many friends and coworkers were able to be here with him and say goodbye. Adam was an amazing father far before our baby girl was born 6 weeks ago and the husband I never dreamed I would find. He is going to be missed by so many. My heart is broken and I want to please ask for privacy as we proceed into these next few days. Thank you to everyone who has prayed and reached out.
Adam held a profound passion for a particular game and had a deep appreciation for those who stood by his side. He consistently went the extra mile to convey his care and inquire about the well-being of others and their families. His infectious joyful spirit brightened the lives of everyone he encountered, leaving smiles in his wake.
In light of this tragic loss, a GoFundMe page has been established by Taylor Sosebee, a resident of Anderson, South Carolina. The funds raised through this effort will go to the Scott family to assist with funeral expenses. The page titled “The Scott Family” has already raised $3,688 USD out of the $30,000 goal.
A statement on the fundraising page reads, “Please help donate to Ashley and the precious girls to help them through this difficult time. If you are able to donate, we would greatly appreciate it. They are also needing Huggies (size 1), Pampers sensitive wipes, and Similac 360 Total Care formula.”
The Anderson County community stands together in support of the Scott family during this trying time, as they remember and honor the life of Adam Scott, a dedicated public servant who touched the lives of many with his unwavering kindness and compassion.
