Ada Ameh’s Biography
Ada Ameh (May 15, 1974 – July 17, 2022) was a Nigerian actress who worked in the Nigerian film industry for over two decades, most notably as Anita in the 1996 film. Domitilla and Emu Johnson in the award-winning Nigerian television series The Johnsons. In the TV series The Johnsons, Ameh appeared alongside other Nollywood actors such as Charles Inojie, Chinedu Ikedieze and Olumide Oworu.

Early life and education
Ameh, although of Idoma descent in Benue State, was born and raised in Ajegunle in Lagos State, a geographically southwestern part of Nigeria inhabited mainly by Yoruba-speaking Nigerians. Ameh received both primary and secondary education in Lagos State but would eventually drop out of school at the age of 14, the same age she gave birth to her daughter.
Ada Ameh’s career
In 1995, Ameh officially became part of the Nigerian Nollywood film industry and got her first film role in 1996, where she played the character Anita in the film Domitila, which became quite successful. . The film was produced and directed by Zeb Ejiro. Ameh also starred in the Nigerian television series titled The Johnsons, which also became an award-winning successful project.
Ada Ameh’s Death
Ameh has lost several family members: most recently her own daughter, to whom she was born at the age of 14. Her daughter passed away in October 2020. Ameh passed away after collapsing in the hospital. Warri on July 17, 2022 at the age of 48. She suffered from mental health problems before her death. A tribute was held for her by the Actors Guild of Nigeria on 18 August 2022 and she was later buried on 26 August in her hometown in Otukpo, Benue State.
