65-years-old Steve Salter passes away in Dyersville

Dyersville, Iowa – The Dyersville community is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Steve William Salter, who left this world on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the age of 65. Steve’s significant contributions to the community and his unwavering commitment to various organizations have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Steve, a proud alumnus of South Dakota State University, earned his collegiate football diploma in 1981. Beyond his academic achievements, he was a prominent figure in Dyersville, serving as the former president of the Chamber of Commerce, the Beckman Booster Club, Dyersville Golf and Country Club, and President of Dyersville Economic Development. Steve’s influence extended beyond organizational roles, as he also played a pivotal role as an investor in local businesses, contributing to the growth and prosperity of the community.

A man of deep faith, Steve dedicated his time, abilities, and resources to the Church, exemplifying his commitment to serving others. His legacy will endure for generations, leaving a lasting impact on the Dyersville community.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will take place at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. An additional visitation will be held at the funeral home from nine in the morning until ten in the morning on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, preceding the funeral mass.

The funeral service will be held at Saint Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, followed by the burial in the church cemetery. The service will be officiated by Reverend Chris Podhajsky, with Reverend Dennis Quint as a concelebrant.
