Coquitlam, BC – The Coquitlam RCMP is urgently reaching out to the public for assistance, appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage in the wake of a hit-and-run incident that has left the local community in shock. The victim, identified as 56-year-old Leon Isaacs, was found injured along Guildford Way near Falcon Drive in Coquitlam.
Leon Isaacs, a well-known figure in the local lacrosse community, sustained injuries during the hit-and-run crash on the night of Friday, December 1, 2023, around 11:55 p.m. An unconscious Isaacs was discovered lying in the bicycle lane on the south side of Guildford Way, exhibiting significant head injuries.
A poignant plea has circulated within the lacrosse community, urging residents in the Coquitlam area to come forward with any information they may have. The post, emphasizing the deep connections of Leon Isaacs and his family within the lacrosse community, implores individuals to share details that could assist in the investigation.
Following the incident, Leon Isaacs was swiftly transported to the hospital. Authorities suspect that he was walking alone in an easterly direction along Guildford Way on the south side of the street between 11:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. on the night of the incident.
Leon Isaacs is described as a 56-year-old Caucasian male with a shaved head, brown beard, blue eyes, standing at 6 feet tall, and having a heavy build. At the time of the incident, he was dressed in a black suit, black blazer, white dress shirt, and either dark dress shoes or was barefoot.
