In a somber development, authorities have identified the victim of a recent shooting on State Route 78 in Ramona. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department revealed that 35-year-old Ramona resident, Angel Jauregui, lost his life in the tragic incident.
The shooting occurred just before 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Haverford Road and SR-78, as multiple gunshots were reported, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Jauregui with multiple gunshot wounds near a red Ford F150 at the scene.
Despite immediate efforts by paramedics who transported him to a local hospital, Jauregui succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
As of now, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation, and no information about the suspect has been disclosed by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
