34-year-old woman and her infant son found dead at Ghim Moh HDB Block; chain of similar incidents in Singapore

Singapore – In a disturbing incident reminiscent of the recent incident, a 34-year-old woman and her three-week-old baby were found dead in the base of a Housing Board block situated in Ghim Moh on the morning of December 3.

According to the Straits Times (ST), authorities were alerted to the somber scene at Block 29 Ghim Moh Link around 11:15 am. Upon arrival, a Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic confirmed the tragic death of the woman and her infant, both pronounced dead at the scene.

Sources from the Singaporean Chinese-language newspaper Lianhe Zaobao have identified the deceased pair as a mother and her son. Eyewitness Mr. Chen, passing by the HDB block, noticed the distressing sight and immediately informed the authorities.

At the location, two blue tents were erected, with the presence of law enforcement personnel visible, indicating the seriousness of the situation. Several people, allegedly relatives of the deceased, who were seen nearby added to the tense atmosphere. Some were visibly distraught, covering their faces in grief.

Despite the disturbing circumstances, initial police investigations have not indicated any suspected foul play. However, the incident is being investigated.

This tragic incident mirrors a similar incident just a month ago. On November 5, a 33-year-old woman and her one-year-old child were also found dead at the base of an HDB block in Eunos.

The disheartening discovery in Ghim Moh echoes concerns within the community, prompting further introspection and concern over the circumstances leading to these distressing incidents. Authorities are working diligently to understand the chain of incidents surrounding the tragic loss of life.
