Authorities in South Bend, Mishawaka, and St. Joseph County are currently investigating a disturbing shooting incident that took place during a house party in South Bend, Indiana, on Saturday night. Police, Fire, and EMS personnel swiftly responded to the scene following a Code 60 report, which indicated a violent altercation involving underage attendees with firearms.
The South Bend Police Department received a call from a concerned mother, reporting suspicious activities at the house party located at 1718 N Johnson St. The initial report highlighted a physical altercation among underage partygoers, some of whom were seen brandishing weapons.

“9 people shot with one dying at a large party in Indianapolis, their ages 16 to 22. It appears this was a Halloween party as many people were dressed in costumes. The shooting happened at 5100 E. 65th Street. Police are still trying to determine what this building/business is. IMPD tells us at least 100 people at the party when the gunfire rang out just after midnight. Police recovered multiple firearms and detained several people trying to determine their involvement.”
According to information gleaned from the South Bend, Mishawaka, and St. Joseph County Police scanner, the party was characterized by heavy underage drinking and smoking, amplifying the gravity of the situation. Upon arrival, first responders discovered four teenagers with gunshot injuries. Further search efforts led to the identification of two additional victims, all of whom are reported to be in stable condition as confirmed by officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Presently, the suspect remains at large, prompting an intensive search by authorities.
