Phillip Cheeb is a hip-hop dancer who was on SYTYCD season 5. Despite not receiving professional dance instruction, the Texan native started dancing at the age of 16. He auditioned for the show on season 3 but was eliminated during Vegas Week. He reached the same level the following season but had to withdraw because of pneumonia and was unable to participate.

“Philip’s father was raised as a Melkite in Lebanon, and he, his parents, etc. were all married in the same faith, in the same solemn, pre-planned ceremony. It was the most profound, most moving thing for us to be able to follow in his footsteps. Our parents and two best friends were there when we did it.”

Makenzie went on to say that the couple wanted to spend their big day “in the snow, hibernating in the mountains with our relatives in the same area” on December 12. She also stated that the couple wanted their wedding to be unique, which was made more memorable by the fact that her father was the host. Phillip took to Instagram two days ago to pay tribute to Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the former SYTYCD member who committed suicide last week at the age of 40, leaving behind wife Allison Holker and three children.

Phillip wrote in an emotional statement that he himself wrote:

“I got married the day before Twitch passed away. I felt like I was one step closer to becoming the man I always wanted to be, and then that man committed. Twitch has made me a better guy, more deserving of the woman I am currently married to. He is the epitome of ‘good’.”
