Day6’s eaJ (real name Jae Park) burst into tears during a recent Instagram live stream. The idol, who just wrapped up the eaJ 2022 Asia Tour Live, went live after his performances in Singapore and Taipei to thank the fans. During a live performance, the singer said he often receives letters from fans thanking him for saving their lives, when the opposite is true.
eaJ then thanked fans for their continued support during his most difficult times, saying:
“I have read in many messages that you say I saved your lives, but in reality… I believe I would have died in January without you.”

For those unfamiliar, the Argentina-born singer left longtime agency JYP Entertainment and K-pop group DAY6 in January, shortly after publicly criticizing the company for not promoting his solo work. Later that month, Jae faced harsh criticism for making inappropriate comments towards Jamie (Jimin), his close friend and former companymate, on a Twitch broadcast. Although Jamie is said to have walked away from the event, in an interview Jae called it one of the worst things in his life:
During his Instagram live stream, he reflected on those occasions and said:
“I really, really appreciate you guys being with me for a long time with all the things that happened, the blunders and all the hardships of who I am.” But I’m trying my best to learn, and I appreciate your help.”
The 30-year-old, who is unafraid to share his mental health issues with fans, went on to explain that even in difficult times, there is always hope, but “you have to overcome” to find it. He said that, while it wasn’t easy, he did it during his gigs in Singapore and Taipei, and that “it was all worth it.”
Finally, he stated:
“I admire you two. I will never be able to thank you for all you have done for me. So I’ll go ahead and keep working hard for you guys. Thanks a lot.”

eaJ shocks fans by releasing a new track ahead of time.
On December 8, 2022, the Korean-American multi-talented musician released the new song “Normal Confessions”. The track was originally scheduled to be released in 2023 but the artist decided to release it earlier after receiving 100,000 pre-orders. During the live event in Singapore, he also performed an emotional tune. Furthermore, eaJ recently appeared at 88Rising’s Head In The Clouds Manila event where he met world famous DJ Zedd. After playing at the Head in the Clouds festival in 2021, he officially made his solo debut with Car Crash.
